Keywords: Molecular Oncology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry

The main interest of Dr. Spano is the molecular oncology. Her studies are focused on the unravelling the molecular basis of cancer development by dissecting the functional role of proteins/enzymes of interest in the regulation of signalling pathways and cellular processes involved in cancer development and progression. Her field is not only the basic research but also the translational research. In fact she performs in vitro functional studies in order to assess the anti-cancer properties of small molecules that are able to target the proteins/enzymes object of her studies.
